bhakti yoga

The Bhakti path is motivated by the power of love.

Yogis chant in Sanskrit mantras as a way to create a vital life force (prana).

We receive prana through fresh air, fresh food, clear mountain springs, intellectually stimulating conversations, and participating in musical practices.

Chanting can be thought of as fostering a sense of "cosmological communitas."

Music is an expression of social and cosmological action.

Music is transformative and affective, and leads to a sense of universal belonging through the very act of coming together to listen or participate in its creation.

Belief in a given ontology is secondary to the value of the somatic transformation which results from the social energy exchanged through the act of coming together as a community.

Bhakti yoga harnesses the power of love as a mechanism for removing the illusion of separateness.

Devotional love allows the intuition of the heart to be trusted and matured.
